Faction history
Athens: Athens shines for its cultural prowess. Its architectural wonders and the works of Plato, Aristophanes, Socrates and Sophocles are admired throughout the ancient world. In many ways, Greek culture is shaped by the Athenians. Its navy has always been its main military asset, but in keeping with classical tradition, its citizens must also contribute to the infantry and cavalry corps.
Epirus: Epirus is a Greek kingdom made up of a multitude of small towns and villages, decidedly more modest than the great cities of the south. Although it favors the development of agriculture and fishing, Epirus maintains a versatile army on the Alexandrian model, made up of horsemen, archers, peltasts, phalangites and war elephants. It also actively recruited mercenaries from all over the Greek world.
Sparta: With a society devoted exclusively to the art of war, Sparta dominated the Greek world and produced the greatest fighters of the Hellenic period. Sparta's slaves and non-citizens enabled its citizens to devote themselves fully to the pursuit of martial perfection as soldiers and champions. Trained and hardened by a lifetime of combat, these warriors and their leaders are the very embodiment of discipline and courage.
