Built by Bombardier and introduced in 2009, the successor to the "Talent" was put into service by Deutsche Bahn to replace older electric multiple units and locomotive-drawn trains on S-Bahn and Regio lines. This four-car electric multiple unit can reach a top speed of 160 km/h (100 mph).

The BR 442 "Talent 2" model is available in Deutsche Bahn's Regio livery with gray and white touches, and features SIFA (driver alertness), AFB, PZB and LZB in-cab signaling systems, as well as "passenger" view. In Train Simulator, the locomotive can also be driven in Quick Drive mode, giving you the freedom to pilot the DB BR 442 'Talent 2' on a suitable line in Train Simulator, with scenarios specifically designed for the Munich Garmisch-Partenkirchen railway line included (available separately and required to run these scenarios).

Scenarios

Three scenarios for the Munich-Garmisch-Partenkirchen rail line are included: Munich Night Commuter Train, Garmisch Rush Hour and A Day in a Talent. Several scenarios are available online at Steam Workshop and in-game. Train Simulator scenarios from Steam Workshop can be downloaded easily and free of charge for additional hours of play.
