Alan Wake: American Nightmare is an Action and Survival video game developed by Remedy Entertainment and published in 2012. It is part of the Alan Wake series and is set in the fictional world of Bright Falls. The game takes place two years after the events of the original game and is considered a spiritual sequel to Alan Wake.

Gameplay

The game consists mainly of battles against supernatural creatures called Taken. Players can use firearms, lights, environmental objects and special tools to defeat enemies. Players are encouraged to think through each situation, plan their attack and use their weapons strategically. In addition to combat, there are also puzzles to solve and exploration sections where players can learn more about the story.

Features

The game features a variety of different modes for players to explore. There's a story mode that takes around six hours to complete, and an Arcade mode that lets players take part in matches against online opponents. There's also a survival mode that pits the player against increasingly difficult waves of Taken.
