Risen 2: Dark Waters is a third-person role-playing game set in a dark, realistic universe. It takes place many years after the end of Risen, with rampaging titans devastating the world and pushing humanity to the brink of extinction. Monstrous creatures have emerged from the depths of the seas, and their attacks have put an end to all marine life.

You play the hero, a member of the Inquisition, who is sent to find a way to stop this chaos caused by these creatures of the deep. His quest begins with rumors claiming that the pirates of the southern islands are the only ones who know a way to get rid of these creatures and their reign of terror once and for all.
