Discover Train Simulator: New Haven FL9, available as a Steam key from FrsGames.com! This hybrid electro-diesel locomotive is one of the most original models ever designed, and has been crisscrossing New York's suburban lines for over 40 years.

A robust and original locomotive

The FL9 was commissioned by New Haven president Patrick McGinnis to replace ALCO DL109 locomotives and worn-out electric covered cabs. It was designed specifically to operate in both diesel and electric modes, to run on the electrified lines established at New York's East River and Grand Central Terminal. It survived a number of rail company mergers before finally being retired in 2009.

An improved version

The model available in Train Simulator comes in a New Haven "McGinnis" livery, a version doped by the Connecticut Department of Transport in the 2000s. It features an in-cab signal system, as was the case on the New York-New Haven line, and is accompanied by a Metro-North Shoreliner III passenger car with passenger view, and a pilot car. It's also Quick Drive compatible, giving you the freedom to drive the New Haven FL9 on all Train Simulator Quick Drive rail lines.

Scenarios included

The game includes three specific scenarios for the NEC rail line: New York-New Haven: Grand Voyage: Part 1, Grand Voyage: Part 2 and Journey to the Big Apple. Additional scenarios are available online at Steam Workshop and are free and easily downloadable.
