Company of Crime: an empire-building game with turn-based tactical missions

Company of Crime is a turn-based strategy game set in 1960s London. You play as the head of the underworld or the chief inspector of Scotland Yard and its famous Flying Squad. Your objective: take control of London or methodically dismantle it. You'll need to visit pubs, clubs, vets, tailors, ports and many other places to extend your influence over the city.

Company of Crime stands out from other turn-based strategy games thanks to its tactical close combat and confined environments. Units have an area of control determined by your choices, and you can earn attack bonuses by catching enemies off-guard. If someone draws a gun, you can snatch it away before the corpses pile up.

During your exactions, you'll need to use stealth to work your way up through the underworld. Shots and enemy fire will only attract more rivals. In this game, progress isn't just a matter of HP and stamina. You need to gather all the evidence of your involvement before you set sail.

You progress through the game by "persuading" locals to sell you their shops and houses at rock-bottom prices, or at least to let you use their back-room without making waves. The more buildings you own, the more items, possibilities and elements you have access to, but the more you also risk a surprise raid by the police or a rival family.

In Company of Crime, your task is to create or dismantle a criminal empire, but this story isn't just about you: it's the story of London in the Sixties, with its beatniks, mods, lemonheads, rockers and all the other subcultures of the time. It's also the story of the fall of an empire.
