Every nation has a set of tools at its disposal to achieve its goals: regional decisions. In addition to the 15 decisions each nation can use, Persia, Athens and Sparta have specific decisions that add to the game's historical accuracy.

Obstacles and bonuses

The campaign begins two centuries before that of the Empires, and many peripheral regional obstacles and assets are offered to keep the game focused on the important nations of the time. These obstacles and bonuses will make certain regions unique. You may encounter impenetrable forests, foul-smelling swamps or bandits, or be blessed in certain areas by rich soil, an oasis or a sacred grove.
