The playable ship: The Exception

This mysterious alien vessel has been extracted from a deep ravine on Mars. Its asymmetrical hull contains an enormous energy weapon as well as other advanced systems and technologies, including an exotic garden of crystalline life.

New enemy ships will roam the universe in addition to the old ones, once you activate the DLC. The number of enemy fleets will remain almost the same, slightly increasing the overall difficulty, but the loot from the ships will usually compensate for losses during battles.

The DLC also adds new planets and other points of interest to the game. You'll need to restart your game (or complete a level while the DLC is already active) to discover the new content.

Overview of the three major new factions:

The Moralors: This civilization has built its fundamental religion on the importance of sleeping morally, tentacles to the left and tail to the right. Other modes of sleep are considered profoundly blasphemous to the god and immoral to the Moralor civilization, thus obviously worthy of a painful death.

The Phobians: A semi-primitive civilization that has indulged in stagnation of epic proportions. Your mere presence in their system means you threaten "Phobian family values, children and small animals, and you also create a fear hazard."

The Capitaalo: A quasi-primitive civilization obsessed with their ancient monetary system and measuring things in money. The Capitaalo only recently joined the galactic community with access to FTL travel. They trade with the Rat Empire and claim that your presence in their territory will destabilize their financial markets, forcing you to pay damages or fight their ships.

With the launch of this DLC, a free set of new weapons, modules and ships will also be added to the base game.
